Homeless shelters are temporary residences for homeless people.  Homeless shelters sometimes also provide other services, such as a soup kitchen, job seeking skills training, job training, job placement, support groups, an/or substance abuse treatment.

Where can I locate subsidized housing or rental assistance in Wood County?Call the Housing Authority at 715-423-7288. This agency provides housing at various locations for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and/or handicapped persons in Wood County.

North Central Community Action Program: 715-424-2581. Emergency housing payment assistance and transitional housing for homeless persons.
