There is now a $50 pre-payment required an all papers to be served.
The Wood County Sheriff Department has two full time process servers. Both are deputies with the department. One works out of the Wis Rapids office, and the other works out of the Marshfield office. The process servers, serve a wide variety of papers. The different type of papers include:
- SUMMONS AND COMPLAINTS
- ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE
- PETITIONS
- NOTICE OF HEARINGS
- SUBPOENA
- NOTICE OF MOTION
- MOTIONS
- AFFIDAVITS
- TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDERS
- DISCOVERY REQUESTS
- FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE STATEMENTS
- EVICTIONS
AND MANY OTHER TYPES.
The department charges the following rates for serving papers:

The decrease in number of papers served results mainly from the increase of civil process fees; many of the papers are now being served by private service.
